Here’s to a healthier, happier, safer period experience you can get with menstrual cups if you stop believing these myths:
Myth 1: Most of the women think it is uncomfortable to use

Fact: For new users, proper guidance and support usually overcome teething issues. In fact, many people can’t feel their cups at all once they’re inserted. 

Myth 2: Wearing a menstrual cup causes difficulty in passing urine or stool

Fact: In fact, it doesn’t interfere when you pass urine or motion. One does not need to remove the menstrual cup every time they use the washroom for urination or bowel movements. 

Myth 3: It Interferes with vaginal health

Fact:  It doesn’t cause any kind of rashes or burning in the vagina. In fact, it maintains moistness within the vaginal mucosa. 

Myth 4: It obstructs the flow of blood and thus menstrual fluid is retained inside the uterus

Fact: It doesn’t obstruct the flow of blood. A menstrual cup is a flexible cup that’s designed for use inside the vagina during your period to collect blood. It will not reduce the blood flow. 

Myth 5: Menstrual cup can be lost in the body

Fact: It cannot go inside the body through the vagina. If you feel yourself internally with your finger, you will realize that there is no room for your cup to get lost. The tiny hole in the cervix will never let the cup move inside. You can easily bring it down.

Myth 6: One standard size fits all

Fact: They are available in different sizes. Everybody is different and so is every woman’s menstrual cycle. Therefore, menstrual cups also come with a size chart as a part of product information on their box itself. 

Myth 7: Virginity is lost if we use a menstrual cup

Fact: Menstrual cups might stretch the hymen. Even if there is a minor tear, it doesn’t define your virginity. In fact, it can also happen due to horse riding or exercise. A menstrual cup is completely safe to use and has no correlation with one’s virginity.
